Föhrenbühl – Care home, school and residence to roughly 130 children and teenagers whose attitude to water has been redefined. The new construction and redevelopment here has caused previous habits to change. Before building started, a cistern was manufactured for the project. Its job is to collect continually accumulating seepage water. This enables Föhrenbühl to save on about 50% of drinking water in the connected houses. This water can be used directly in the garden, or for toilets and washing machines without any prior treatment. The cellar of each new house has been fitted with its own Maxima rainwater system from WISY AG free of charge. This comprises the pump technology and a storage tank, which holds roughly the quantity required for half a day.

Via automatically-controlled sensors that detect water levels, supplies can be replenished from the central cistern. Each house has its own connection to the cistern and its own submersible pump. In the event of a lack of seepage water, the respective house system switches automatically to the emergency supply of potable water. This is a prefabricated part of the Maxima WISY rainwater system.
